Goal Setting and a New Look At It.

I know what is going through your mind on this very moment…. Goals! Goals! Goals!

Can’t they stop talking about goals?  They say the mother of learning is repetition, and a short reminder about goal setting is part of repetition.

In his book “Beyond Positive Thinking”, Dr Robert Anthony talks about goal setting and a new look at it. Let’s look at some of the questions he asks in the chapter about goals:

# 1. Did you ever take a business trip without at least having some idea where you were going?

# 2. Did you ever play tennis without knowing where the tennis court was?

# 3. Have you ever left your house to do your weekly shopping without having at least some idea of where you were going to shop?

# 4. Have you ever taken a holiday without knowing where you wanted to go?

I bet that you can say yes to all of the above questions, but how many people you know can say YES to the next questions?

#1. Do you have goals for your tomorrow and the day after tomorrow?

#2. Do you live only in somebody else’s goal, such as your boss, or are you moving towards your own goals?

# 3. Have you ever written down your own goals for your own life?

Isn’t it strange that for our holidays we take merit goals, the games we play we have merit goals, and even the shopping we do we have merits goals, but we rarely establish goals for the most important journey of all – our own life.

Where you end up twenty or thirty years from now is all up to you, no one else. If you do have your goals in place for thirty years from now, That is really good and don’t take your eyes off your goal, and teach other people to understand this important principle about goal setting. If not, you need to set some goals for your life so that you will not end up in someplace where you do not want to be.

If you have not yet read this book, make it a goal to start reading it as the next “To Read” book on your list. If you love to get hold of Dr Robert Anthony’s book “Beyond Positive Thinking” You can just fill in my opt in form and I will send it to you.

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible”.                             ~ Tony Robbins~

Religion vs. the Universal laws – Success and the Universal Laws

Religion vs. Universal Laws — this is not a post designed to condemn any religion or faith, but it might kill some holy cows that can stand in our way of understanding the laws of the universe.
A few days ago, as I was coming home from my “JOB”, the header of my blog popped into my mind, and I was thinking, “What if people really understood the difference between religion and universal laws?” What was amazing to me was that when I was looking for something to update my status on Facebook, I stumbled over this next quote:

“If you have a particular faith or religion, that is good. But you can survive without it.” ~Dalai Lama~

And what Dalia Lama said resonated with my thoughts that I had just on my way home. By this I do not mean that I do not belief in God or a Higher Being, or whatever you name the Creator of the universe.

So let us have a look at religion vs the universal laws.

This is what Wikipedia says about religion:
“Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe. They tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle from their ideas about the cosmos and human nature.”

What are universal laws on the other hand?

“The universal law concept means that universal laws can’t go astray. Therefore, universal laws concept contains neither the better nor the bad in them. They are not relative concepts, but absolutes, such as the law of gravity.”

My intention is not to go deep into religion, but to explain why the Dalai Lama says “… you can survive without it”, or in my own words, “you can be successful in life without it”.

Let’s look at an example to make it better understandable to everyone.

If 3 people stand on a high building (100 feet high), the one is a religious or spiritual person the other one is an atheist and the other one is a small child that does not understand the law of gravity, and all of them jump off from that building, is it possible that the next things will happen?
The religious or spiritual person will float to the ground, have a soft landing and walk away?
The atheist will fall to death because he does not believe in God?
The little child will also float to the ground, have a soft landing and walk away because he does not know about the law of gravity?

The answer to my question, of course, is a big NO. No matter if you are a religious/spiritual person, an atheist, or a child that does not know about the same law of gravity, it is applicable to you and everyone else. You will fall to the ground at the same speed and likely die, or at least do some pretty serious breaking of bones.

And that is why I say you can be successful in life without religion. Don’t think that I do not believe in God, because I do. The point that I want to make is that too many people say the Law of Attraction does not work, or it just works for some people.

No, the law is always working. Bop Proctor says that in The Secret, and I just explained it to you in a simple form. If you are a believer or not, or know about it or not, it works no matter what, and it is working every day in your life. That is why, if an atheist writes down his dreams and goals, does his self talk every day, and applies all the other success principles, he will be successful in life the same as a person that does not know about this law but still have his dreams and goals. That person will also be successful. But if a religious or spiritual person focuses on all the negative things in the world and does not write down his goals and dreams, or do a self talk, etc., he will stay poor even though he knows God and goes to church every week.

I so agree with this statement of Charles Fillmore, one of the founders of the Unity Church:

“It is a sin to be poor.” ~Charles Fillmore~

If you apply the universal laws, you don’t have to be poor, and you can live out the life that God planned for you on earth, and this is to do good for God, the world, your neighbor, and yourself.

I hope I could put some clarity on religion versus the universal laws and that I could get some holy cows out of the way for you.

Thank you for reading my blog and your Comment love to hear from you. :-)

There are no traffic jams on the extra mile

I believe that almost everyone knows the statement “Walking the Extra mile”.But do they understand the real hidden secret behind those words?

Let’s start with the quote that I just gave, From Zig Ziglar

“There are no TRAFFIC JAMS on the extra mile.” ~ Zig Ziglar~

Why no “traffic jams”? First there are not a lot of people walking the extra mile, and therefore people see you more easily. That includes your up- or downline if you are into network marketing or MLM, or it might be your Boss if you doing the 9-5 routine. Simply by walking the extra mile you will stand out like a sore thumb, and people will pick that up more likely than if you are just doing your normal JOB or task to grow your online or offline business.

The other hidden law that not a lot of people know is that there is Gold on the extra mile, because it is link with the law of sowing and reaping that states “what you give out will come back to you in multiple ways.” It can be money, it can be a promotion at your work, or your team might just start to grow at amazing speed.

To make this law so much stronger is if you do it with joy and with a smile on your face. That will show the Universe that you love what you do, and it will give love back to you. Remember, good  energy attracts good energy, and nothing can stand in its way.

This might be a short post, but I hope that I was able to change your point of view about the extra mile, and I hope you will put a lot of miles on the clock by walking the extra mile every day.

My good friend Beth also did an amazing post about the extra mile. If you would like to read what she says about the extra mile, you can go to her blog @ Meet Beth Allen.Com

How to Manage Your Time – Father Time and You

How to manage your time might be one of the biggest secrets about the “rich and famous” that Mister and Missus average do not use properly. So let’s go and look at what “Wikipedia” says about time management.

“Time management is the act or process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially to increase effectiveness, efficiency or productivity.”

My friend and mentor Willie Jolley wrote a book Willie Jolley “It Only Takes a Minute to Change Your Life” that has helped me change my way of thinking about time and how I use my time. Have you ever thought about this: a minute used wisely becomes one hour used wisely, then a month, and then it become years. In his book he also says that at any point of time, one single minute can be a starting point of building your dreams.

Before we go over to see how you can better manage your time, ponder this little story from Africa:

“Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up and knows it must run faster than the fastest lion, or it will be killed and eaten. Also in Africa a lion wakes up and knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve to death. It does not matter if you are a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you better start running.” ~Willie Jolley~

So let’s start to run our time wisely to get to our dreams and goals, just like the Steve Jobs, Jim Rohn’s, Walt Disney’s, and many others have done with their time, because we all sit with the same amount of time.

Let’s first take a look at some tips for time management, and then I will show you what I use to become friends with Father Time.

1) Make a list of the tasks you need to accomplish

2) Assign realistic priorities to each task.

• Priority 1: due today or tomorrow

• Priority 2: due in one week

• Priority 3: due in one month

• Priority 4: due next year

3) Balance your efforts. Work on small portions every day

4) Decide upon the time of day.

5) Manage time in increments. Play a game with yourself by competing against time.

• Work in fifteen minute, half hour or hour intervals.

• Give yourself a time limit to complete a portion of a task or the entire task.

6) Take a break. Clear your mind and refresh yourself to refocus.

• Decide beforehand on a 5, 10 or 15 minute break and stick to that decision.

• During your break, reassess to develop a new perspective

• Breaks provide incentive by giving you something to look forward to.

7) Keep track of your progress.

• Cross things off the list as they are completed.

• You’ll feel more relieved and relaxed just by getting through the daily tasks.

• This will give you a sense of accomplishment and spur motivation.

8) Reassess the list.

• Rewrite and reprioritize your list as needed

• Add new tasks to the list.

• Eliminate certain tasks

• Delegate tasks to others.

• Use technology to complete tasks more quickly, efficiently or accurately.

9) Make sure to leave time for fun, it doesn’t have to be a lot of time but make sure that you do!

10) Sleep for 6-8 hours every night. If you don’t sleep for the proper amount of time, you’ll probably suffer from lack of concentration and focus, and that won’t allow you to function well.

I know that you might think, Theuns how am I going to remember all these ten points that you gave me? Remember, I said that I am going to show you what I use to win time. To do that, I am using a to-do list software program that my good friend Gavin Mountford has created to help people become masters of time. It is called “The Results Machine.”

With this amazing Results Machine almost all ten points that I just gave you are built into the program. To hear what I think about it and how it has helped me to manage my time better, just watch my short video.

I want to end of this post with this Quote From Benjamin Mays:

“I have only just a minute, only 60 seconds in it,Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,But it’s up to me to use it.I must suffer if I lose it,Give account if I abuse it,Just a tiny little minute,But eternity is in it.

~ Benjamin Mays~

What are you going to do with your minute?

I hope I could help you  with “How to Manage Your Time” , thank you for all your Great comments and Feedback.

The ABC and Failing forward to Success

What do you do when some or one of you plans fail on your way to your goal and dream? Well that is where the ABC and failing forward to success come into play. There is a culture of admitting failure, accepting it, and learning from it.  By doing so, we are able to move past small failures and consistently improve and innovate on the ways that we are working, thereby (hopefully) avoiding larger failures later on. We refer to this process of learning from mistakes as “failing forward.”

How many times have you worked on a project or plan that did not work out as you hoped it would? Well, just recently it happened to me. There is some bad news and some good news. The bad news is that a recent plan of mine did not work out as I hoped it would, but is that really bad news or is there something good that I can learned from the experience? Well, the good news is that I discovered one thing that won’t work. Like Tomas Edison said,

Tomas Edison

“I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.”

After this happened to me one of my good friends, Donna Merrill, sent me this card below on my Facebook wall, and that just put me in a new vibration level of thinking about failure and made me realize that I did not fail but only found a method that did not work.

So what do you need to do if plan A does not work?

A. Look deep into plan A and see if you can find something that you did or did not do that you must not repeat in plan B.

B. Willie Jolley says in his book A Setback Is a Setup for a Comeback”, “You must be willing to change, so you need to find the things that you need to change, like the way you think, your perspective, your attitude, and actions.”

C. You  need to decide  that you will not give up and change the things you need to change in order the get to you dream, the moment you  decide is the moment you change direction on your way to success.

D. You must decide to make an effective decision with a vision and then apply action towards your dreams (Vision, Decision and Action Leads to success).

E. Focus on your goal and dream, because if the dream is big enough the obstacles do not matter.

 F. Ask yourself, “What is it that what I want to achieve and where do I want to go?”  If you know where you want to go, you will get there no matter what.

G. Take new action towards your goal. “Action is the foundational key to all success.” Pablo Picasso

H. You must have a desire to succeed, no matter how big the obstacles that you face.  You must have the attitude of an ant. No matter how big the obstacle they face, they find a way how go over it.

I. The last thing you need to do to fail forward is to know and believewhat the ancient text says, “All things will work out for good.”

Whatever happens, learn from the experience, think about what it was that prevented your plan from succeeding, and move on to Plan B with the steps I’ve lined out above.

Remember . . . If plan A did not work, there are 25 more letters in the alphabet and unlimited plans in the universe that are waiting for you to use to reach your dream.

So with this said I hope I was able to open “The ABC and Failing forward to Success” for you, just remember, never give up no matter how many letters of the alphabet you have to use to get there.

Thanks for reading my blog and your comments, I hope I could help you to fail forward.   :-)

The Secret is out – The “It’s All About GrAtiitude!” Project

The Secret is out, last week my partner Steve and I officially announced the launch of our “It’s all about grAtitude! project.  Just like many of you, Steve and I both strongly believe there are basic universal laws of the universe that we live by every day, whether we realize it or not.  But the challenge is how can we become more aware of these laws and principles and actively put them into positive use in our life and learn the secret of prosperity and abundance all while having fun? Our answer?  The “It’s all about grAtitude!” project!

The “It’s all about grAtitude!” project began as a simple idea several years ago when I had a vision of creating something that would teach, in a

It's all about grAtitude!fun, interactive and entertaining way, the age-old success principles of discovering prosperity and abundance using a classic style board and card game.  Two years ago I met Steve Vernon, an American graphic and web designer.  I sponsored him into a network marketing company I was working with at the time, and we quickly became very close friends, largely because of our common interest in these teachings.  A year ago I asked Steve if he would join me in bringing my vision to reality.  He did not hesitate in saying yes!

The game, now in its final stage of development and becoming a reality, is called “grAtitude!”.  The goal of each “grAtitude!” player is to learn and understand these principles and put them into practice to become more successful in all areas of life, including financial, personal and professional relationships, the workplace, study, school and spiritual growth. The players are rewarded and/or penalized along the way by responding to questions, completing quotes, drawing a variety of reward/penalty cards or landing on specific spots on the game board.

grAtidude! game board

grAtitude! game board

The game has been carefully and thoughtfully designed so that players are competing not only against each other, but also (and more important) with themselves.  The idea is not unique, by any means. Many popular sports, such as golf, acrobatics, track and field, and so on, are as much about personal development as competition against fellow athletes. The game of “grAtitude!” seeks to create similar aspirations within a board and card game setting, along with a cooperative spirit among the players competing against the requirements of the game as much as competing with each other.

Many people say it all started with the book and movie, The Secret, which hit the market in 2006 and became such a huge success; but there is nothing “secret” about the principles espoused in this media sensation. They have been taught in every major culture and spiritual tradition throughout history.

We aim to teach and promote these same basic life principles for success, happiness and abundance.  These principles, or ’Universal Laws”, now popularly known as the ”Law of Attraction, Law of Intent“, “Law of Gratitude“, and so on, basically boil down to the fact that what we think and believe create our future and the reality around us.

The game is now just the first phase of a much larger “It’s all about grAtitude!” project that will include online and app versions of the game itself, an online store of apparel and other items (already up and running) featuring over 50 of Steve’s original graphics and quotes inspired by the game, interactive daily planners that will reward you for achieving personal goals, books, and much more.

A portion of all profits from this project will go toward supporting educational charities for young people, with a special focus in developing countries.  We can also use our online store for supporting your favorite charity.  Just contact Steve or myself for more information.

Steve and I have an incredible by-invitation-only opportunity to attend a major business forum in March, where we will have the unique chance to actually sit and meet one-on-one with game manufacturers, marketing and branding professionals, legal experts, major investors, and leaders in the Law of Attraction and motivational arena, such as Bob Proctor, Les Brown, Lisa Nichols, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and others, who will be mentoring us and helping us put together just the right team to launch my long-time dream into the world in the best way possible.

To successfully get the project off the ground, we have launched a twenty-five day online KICKSTARTER campaign.  A short video at the top of our page introduces the campaign and the purpose behind it.  You will also get all the details of the project, as well as how you can provide support and be rewarded in fun ways for doing so.  KICKSTARTER is the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects.

Every week, tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.  Steve helped fund a music video several months ago for some friends of his through Kickstarter and says he really enjoyed just feeling like he was part of a really great project.

Here’s our video:

Our campaign ends February 17, 2012 at 11:59pm, and it is an all-or-nothing deal — if we don’t fund our minimum goal, we get nothing and nobody is charged for their pledge.   At the same time, there is no limit on how much we CAN raise, and everything we raise will go toward the project.  Pledges can be as little as $1.00 or as much as you like. We appreciate your support in whatever way and at whatever level you feel comfortable.  And PLEASE help spread the word!

Take a look at the press release that just went out about our project, and share it with everybody you know!

The Secret is out, So please check it out today and get involved in helping us get this great project off and running!  Remember, “It’s all about grAtitude!”

The Law of Giving — Giving with Gratitude

The Law of Giving and the idea of giving with gratitude is maybe one of the best ways to put the Law of Attraction into action in your life. The Law of Giving and Receiving is part of the seven power principals and laws of success that you can or need to apply to attract good things into your live.

The seven Power Principals are:

1.     The Power of Understanding

2.     The Power of Mindset

3.     The Power of Vision

4.     The Power of Partnership

5.     The Power of Giving

6.     The Power of Gratitude

7.     The Power of Accountability

But for this post I will only focus on the power of giving and especially giving with gratitude.

Winston Churchill said:“We make I living by what we get. We make a life by what we give”.

Wisdom From Plato

Plato also said: “When you feel grateful, you become great and eventually attract great things”

Now can you imagine how powerful it will be if you give with a grateful heart every time you give something away towards a good cause?  Why do you think successful people teach you to give 10% of your income to charity? If you give to charity or something for a good course, then you feel good; and if you feel grateful that you were able to do so, you add more good energy to it.  Just image how much power will go into it and what the boomerang effect it will have towards you.

The great book, the Bible, teaches us,” What you sow you shall reap”.  This is not just a spiritual law, but a universal law of giving and receiving that you will find in every major spiritual and cultural tradition. What you put into the ground will come up, and if you sow into good ground then you will reap good things that will come back to you. It is like the law of gravitation — it always works, whether you believe in it or not or whether you know about it or not.

According James Ray (from The Secret movie) in his book “The Science of Success”, giving is one of the most powerful principles in the laws of success for two reasons.

1.     If you give great service and value to others, you will receive great returns.

2.     Giving is one of the quickest ways to plant new ideas and new realities of abundance into your unconscious mind. When you give, you tell your unconscious that you have more than enough and that you live in total abundance. You don’t have to be hoard, guard carefully what you have, be stingy, or hold back in a way. ‘you can always attract to yourself more than you need – at any point of time, and from unlimited supply.

By just understanding this you will be able to put the Law of Attraction in action faster than you think.

Well, with this said, I want to give you the opportunity to apply The Law of Giving with the “It’s all about grAtitude!” project that Steve and I have created. Just Go to the  Kickstarter page. for more info or click on the banner Below.

Thank you for your comments and I looking forward to hear from you.

How to Create Your Destiny with Gratitude – The Power of Gratitude

“How to create your destiny with gratitude” might sound odd to some people, and you might even ask, “Is there really power behind gratitude?”

Most of us grow up in a house where Mom taught you to say “thank you”, which is good in itself.  But did Mom teach you why you need to be grateful and when to be grateful, and did she teach you the real principle behind the two words “Thank You”? Did mom tell you about Gratitude

I don’t have stats, but I think I might not be wrong if I say I think one out of 1000 moms in the would understand this simple principal when I was a kid, and today since The Secret has been exposed to the world, it might be one out of 100.

For me when I was growing up, the words “thank You” was just a form of good manners towards other people, and that is where it stopped; but today I have a better understanding of the power of gratitude, and I will be forever grateful.  So let me share some principles with you and show you “How to Create Your Destiny with Gratitude”.

Wallace Wattles made the following statement in his book, The Science of Getting Rich:

”There is a law of gratitude, and if you are to get the results you seek, it is absolutely necessary that you should observe this law”

It is all about Gratitude

It is all about Gratitude

Now what is that law that is behind gratitude?  That law is that there is energy behind it, and the more you are grateful about something, the more energy you create for yourself to get more of what you are grateful for.

As we know from what we learn from people like Napoleon Hill and the Bob Proctors of the world is that what you think about you bring about.  It is also a fact that if you are grateful for something, you can’t think about something negative at the same time.

Gratitude is so important because it is a very high energy positive vibration of thought.  It is powerfully attractive!

Wallace Wattles also says this:

“You cannot exercise much power without gratitude because it is gratitude that keeps you connected with power. The creative power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention. The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best, therefore it will receive the best.

So how do you create your destiny with gratitude?  The answer is, to be grateful in advance, because by doing that you only think about the things you do want and not the things you do not want.  If you can train your mind to be consistently grateful about your goals that you set for yourself and grateful towards the universe or God that you will accomplish them, then you create your destiny.

To discover more about how the power of gratitude can help, you can complete the opt-in form at the top and receive the free e-book, The Power of Gratitude.  You will also be part of the “It’s all about gratitude!” movement that we started and among the first to find out when you you’ll be able to buy the “gratitude!” – the game ”that Steve and I have created.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope I could help you to understand the power of gratitude and how to Create Your Destiny with Gratitude. Thank you for your comments and I looking forward to hear from you.

Goal Setting — Why is goal setting important for you and your business?

Goal setting, Goal setting, Goal setting. These are most likely the words that you hear the most from successful people and motivational speakers when you listen to audios, read their books or attend their conferences.

There is an old saying that goes like this : “If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.” So my question to you is, do you aim at something worthy?

Let’s look at the definition of goal setting. “Goal setting is the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan for achieving the result you desire.”

On average people do not have a problem with the first part of the above statement. Most people have goals, but the problem is that they only stay goals in their minds with no action steps attach to them. How many people do you know who say, “I want to stop smoking” as a new year resolution, but it never happens? So let’s look at ways in which you can accomplish your goal.

Here are a few action steps to follow that will help you to the attach “action” to your goals, and then we will look at why goal setting is important for you and your business.

• Get a clear vision and picture of your goal.

• Split your goal into smaller parts. As I all way ask people, how do you eat an elephant? One   bite at a time.

• Decide on a weekly task to accomplish that will help you to stay motivated about your goal.

• Reward yourself for completing a task that brings you closer to your goal.

• Set a time and date for when you want to accomplish your goal.

Now that I have given you some pointers to help you with the action part of goal setting, let’s see why it is important to have a goal.

1.Meaning

Goal setting motivates you to achieve what you want. Once you know how to set goals, your ability to attach meaning to your deepest desires results in a level of motivation.

Setting goals give your life more meaning, purpose and passion.

2.Time

Well chosen goals mean you spend your time doing things that align with your values — everything you do has a point and purpose.

3.Truth

Well chosen goals take you out of your comfort zone. Anything that does this, whether you want it or not, presents the best opportunity for growth.

“Once you know, you grow.”

4.Feeling

Yes, the process can be painful, but the journey is often as good as the destination.

Goal setting affects now because it gives you something to look forward to, and this feeling is available this very moment.

5.Choice

You choose the direction your life takes – you need to take full responsibility for the actions and consequences.

It does not matter whether your goal is to leave something good or leave something bad; accept that you chose everything in your life now and you are responsible for the outcome of it.

“Why is goal setting important? Because it injects creativity, promotes growth and ultimately, helps you fulfill your potential” ~Brain Tracy~

I am a big believer in goal setting and also in “Practice what you preach”; so here is what I did with my goal setting this past year.

I set a goal for this year that my “grAtitude!” board game must be ready to hit the market so that I can help the world with wisdom and success principals in a fun way.

I set my weekly goals that I pointed out and applied all five steps of them. On my way towards my goal, Steve became “my partner in success”, and today I can say with an open heart that the “grAtitude!” game will hit the market by 17 Jan 2012.

If you want to be part of my goal’s end result on the 17th of January 2012 just opt in to my opt-in form and be part of this and become part of the “It’s all about grAtitude!” movement

“People who do not have goals are doomed to work forever for those who do!”

I hope that I was able to open something about goal setting for you or even just remind you how important it is to have goals.
